Update from Provost Jim Clark on Sandels Building

Dear Sandels Building Colleagues and Students,

I hope this message finds everyone well as work continues in the Sandels building.

The following has taken place since my last update:

  • Pricing for the work in the basement and the Dean’s suite envelope repair was received and revised to reflect newly issued contract terms. This work will begin once purchase order is received.
  • Pricing for the fourth-floor renovations is in progress. The construction team is working to expedite the project and remedy schedule constraints relating to the delivery of the new HVAC mechanical system controls.
  • The new air handling unit #6 for the fourth floor has arrived. Installation is being coordinated with the start of construction.
  • Selections pertaining to the final wall colors and the interior finishes for the corridor floors are in progress.
  • Facilities Maintenance is working to complete the wall, ceiling and floor repairs required due to the plumbing issue encountered last month prior to the upcoming prospective faculty visits.
  • A solution for emergency power is being finalized. This plan will enable the support of research equipment during a power outage.

If you have questions that have not been addressed in an update, on the Sandels Response website or in the FAQs, please email sandelsresponse@fsu.edu, and we will answer your individual questions to the best of our ability.

Best regards,

Jim Clark
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
