Dr. David Krause
David is the founder and principal Toxicologist for HealthCare Consulting and Contracting (HC3) in Tallahassee, Florida. He is also a Certified Industrial Hygienist and Licensed Mold Assessor. Dr. Krause received his Doctorate in Environmental and Occupational Health and Masters of Science in Public Health from the University of South Florida. Over the past 28 years he has practiced environmental science and public health, focusing in the areas of toxicology, occupational health, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, and exposure to microbes and chemicals in homes, schools, office buildings, and healthcare facilities. From 2008 to 2011 Dr. Krause was the State Toxicologist for the Florida Department of Health and led the State’s efforts to investigate public health risks associated with corrosive Chinese drywall and the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. David is a recognized expert in risk assessment, workplace exposures, health care facilities, Legionnaires’ disease, combustion products, flame retardants, irritant chemical exposures, indoor air quality, and mold. He co-authored the 2009 Guidelines for the Surveillance, Investigation, and Control of Legionnaires’ Disease in Florida and the 2015 AIHA Guideline for the Recognition, Evaluation, and Control of Legionella in Building Water Systems. Dr. Krause is a member of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygiene (ACGIH) Bioaerosols Committee and is the past Chair of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Indoor Environmental Quality Committee.
Dr. Christopher Teaf
Chris is a Board-certified toxicologist with broad experience in evaluation of potential effects from chemical, biological and physical exposures. He is a founder and Principal Toxicologist for Hazardous Substance & Waste Management Research in Tallahassee. Dr. Teaf has provided research and advisory services to environmental agencies and private firms nationally and internationally regarding toxicology, human health risk assessment, and occupational health/safety. He has extensive background in environmental regulations and evaluation of environmental fate, potential health effects, and risk management or remedial considerations of chemicals, metals, pharmaceuticals, microbes, and physical agents (e.g., radon). He Chaired the Toxic Substances Advisory Council for the Florida Department of Labor, and the Florida Governor's Financial and Technical Advisory Committee for petroleum sites. For over 40 years, Chris has held academic and research positions, including Associate Director and Director of the FSU Center for Biomedical & Toxicological Research. He has conducted research on environmental and occupational toxicology for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry, World Health Organization, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and many state/local agencies. He has organized and taught graduate/undergraduate courses and technical seminars for FSU, University of Florida, Florida A & M, Georgia Tech, University of Arkansas, USEPA, ATSDR, USDA, Florida DOH, and Florida DEP. He serves on editorial boards or as peer reviewer for scientific journals in toxicology and risk assessment.
